The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach continues its Preschool Creative Workshop with underwater basket weaving as the Aug. 1 art class for the young age group. This class was first offered during the center’s Summer Art Camp in June and, according to Jessica Jones, children’s program coordinator with the art center, the class was a hit.

Byrne Hosts Facebook Town Hall

Alabama Congressman Bradley Byrne hosted an online town hall on Thursday, utilizing the power of social media to reach out to his constituents. Byrne (R-Alabama) answered 27 questions from more than a hundred of his Facebook fans for about an hour from his office in our nation’s capital.

Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary Gains Protection

There’s almost nothing that will get your attention more than wildfire, especially when it happens on such an eco-sensitive location as Dauphin Island. Unfortunately, that rude awakening occurred three years ago when a spark that originated somewhere on the edge of the campground roared through 80 acres of pristine, barrier island habitat.

GULF SHORES, Ala. — The marine education and environmental learning center Ocean Camp just received a grant from the Center for Microbial Science Research & Education in Honolulu. It’s one of the initial grants awarded to Ocean Camp (OC) after recent designation as an official Federal 501C3 organizational non-profit.
